Drugs and alcoholism

This is …sad. Its one thing to punish Greg; but Elizabeth has done nothing wrong. And yet now, she is unable to say no to sex with other men. Pregnancy, STD’s, UTI, cervical cancer, violent abuse, even drugs or alcoholism…and for what? For being married to Greg?
If this is Tim’s true character, then it’s no surprise his girlfriend cheated on him.

Should have brought up the smoking analogy instead of alcoholism. you quit smoking before and here you are... smoking

Prob from Chapt 1 but that is so long ago cant really temember her. And the deep dive into alcoholism & subsequent therapy is improbable so....disappinting installment

My older sister was unfortunately much like Jeanette was in your story. She made some bad choices and hung out with the wrong people in high school, was able to put it behind her (for the most part), married a man she loved and had a son by him, then later messed it up and fell back into alcoholism and serious drugs; About 12 years after her divorce she OD'd and passed on to a better existence in the afterlife.
Your story was very touching and the characters were realistic and believable. Another nice job by you.

Ludicrous. Greta she goes to rehab. Yeah she is an alcoholic. So what? It is one thingt of get drunk and tricked into cheating. But a year of being continually debased? As a prior commenter posted, how does alcoholism get you to 31 man gangbangs? Hard drugs are different story as an addict could virtually anything to get his/her fix from a dealer. But alcohol? Wtf. Her excuses and anger at Steve at the end is childish. If she really completed rehab and did AA, she would be exhorted to come clean with herself. Look her behavior is so beyond repugnant that despite her whining about George the predator and Steve working too much, she lost her kids. Period. Her alcoholism might influence her to cheat but a year of being degraded and pimped out? Nah thatbis a conscious choice. It wasn't crack cocaine, heroin, etc. Alcoholism can destroy people's lives and destroy marriages, but her choices and stupidity literally nuked their marriage to the extreme. George's hold over her wasn't alcohol, he just used it to ply her and get her to drop inhibitions and get drunk. He wasn't her dealer yet quickly became her pimp. How dumb to you have to be to make that jump? She could have gone tonher husband early for help or even quit her job and run away for a time, till George moves on. If she had confessed early, he still could have gotten evidence (she certainly wasn't thr only one) and worked the overthrow. Look alcoholism can cause her to be a different person, to be loose at bars and clubs leading to one night stands, disconnecting emotionally, mentally, and physically from her family, but outright degraded whoring activity? Nah. That only comes if she loses her job, goes broke and ends up.payijg for things on her back. That wasn't the case here. Alcoholism is a disease but she made a lot of decisions because the predator simply manipulated her mind and she made hideous choices that only someone completely tanked would do. How do you keep that up for a year? Uggh poor story.
